CULTIVATING THE ALCHEMISTS OF OUR ERA

Water research specialists are the non-traditional alchemists of our era. Their dedicated work is finding solutions to the seemingly impossible problems of our time. With partners like the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer and University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s School of Freshwater Sciences, we bring the innovators and their innovations out of the lab and connect them with companies, demonstration sites and talent. The Water Council aggregates, evaluates and connects emerging technologies that address water issues across a wide range of industries including utilities, agriculture and manufacturers.

The Global Water Center, a crucial part of our research engine, is home to the BREW Accelerator, Water Technology Accelerator at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Water Equipment & Policy Center, which operates under the auspices of the National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center Program. With these centers and accelerator programs, The Water Council drives innovation and other research initiatives in North America’s water technology industry and creates opportunities for organizations around the world. Discover the breadth and impact of our research.

AN APIARY OF CONNECTIONS

Beginning in 2009, The Water Council convened regional water technology companies, creating a core cluster network, and expanded that network by recruiting new, innovative water technology businesses to Southeastern Wisconsin, while simultaneously building overseas relationships with cities, companies, universities and water-focused organizations. As the concentration of water professionals in the hub increases and programming continues to grow, there are numerous opportunities for large businesses to engage, find talent and make connections.
