Visit Served as Introduction to The Water Council and Key Representatives

The Water Council was pleased to host the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) to the Global Water Center on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. The half-day visit was meant to introduce the DOI delegation to The Water Council and the freshwater technology, research, and business development occurring in Milwaukee’s World Water Hub.

The DOI delegation consisted of Mike Connor, Deputy Secretary and Martin Doyle, Senior Conservation Finance Fellow. The group spent the full morning meeting with representatives from A.O. Smith Corporation, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s School of Freshwater Sciences, Water Equipment & Policy Research Center, Alliance for Water Stewardship – North America, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, The Water Council, and several water technology startups located within the Global Water Center.

Moving forward, The Water Council looks to continue the conversations started with the DOI from this initial introduction, to determine the best path for future engagement between both organizations. Stay tuned!
