The BREW (Business Research Entrepreneurship in Wisconsin) Accelerator, a world-class seed accelerator focused on innovation-driven startups solving global freshwater challenges, unleashes water innovation by funding water technology startups with commercialization potential. Launched in 2013, this first-of-its-kind accelerator pairs a unique water-focused startup community with credible resources within Milwaukee’s World Water Hub that helps entrepreneurs from around the world accelerate results, inspire action to create further opportunity, and disrupt the status quo.
An expansion of The Water Council’s BREW Accelerator, BREW Corporate partners with global corporations looking for new technologies to solve a specific challenge. Startups compete in a challenge revolving around areas of interest determined by the corporation. Those who show the highest likelihood of solving the challenge are chosen for the program.
A network more than 100 years in the making.EXPLORE
Beginning in 2009, The Water Council convened regional water technology companies, creating a core cluster network, and expanded that network by recruiting new, innovative water technology businesses to Southeastern Wisconsin, while simultaneously building overseas relationships with cities, companies, universities and water-focused organizations. As the concentration of water professionals in the hub increases and programming continues to grow, there are numerous opportunities for startups to engage, find a support system and make connections.
