As city populations boom and the need grows for sustainable energy and water, scientists and engineers are looking toward artificial intelligence to build new systems to deal with wastewater. The Water Council is part of a team led by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Chicago developing an artificial intelligence-assisted system for recovery of energy, nutrients and freshwater from municipal wastewater. The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District is also participating. Click here to learn more.
