Solving the world’s water challenges by preparing Wisconsin’s future workforce

Wisconsin has more than 50 water-focused degree programs and all that is missing is a coordinated effort to assist in collaboration and specialization between higher education institutions. The Freshwater Collaborative will provide that coordination by connecting the 13 UW institutions and ultimately develop Wisconsin’s water tech workforce and attract local, regional and global talent to pursue education and careers in the field of water.

“From our farmers relying on clean water for crops and livestock to our outdoor recreation industry to everyday use, water is essential to our state and our economy, and that’s why the School of Freshwater Sciences and the Freshwater Collaborative are so critically important.”

-Wisconsin State Governor Tony Evers
