About Greg Cannito

Greg Cannito offers 20 years of experience in the real estate, technology, environmental and government services industries. Greg has a passion for conceptualizing new ideas and creating new business models out of public infrastructure challenges. His expertise in business design, structuring, capital markets, asset management, and outreach brings value to partners for whom he has identified and articulated sustainable solutions that integrate private and public objectives. Greg is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Overseas Building Operations Industry Advisory Group, the Montgomery County Maryland Clean Energy Task Force, as well as a sought-after speaker, presenter, and writer on Infrastructure solutions and Alternative Delivery Models. Greg holds a BS in Finance from Virginia Tech and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Dean Amhaus has served as the first President & CEO of The Water Council since March 2010. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., The Water Council was formed in 2009 to drive economic, technology and talent development to support the global water industry. With over 190 members and 238 water technology companies in Milwaukee’s Water Technology Cluster, the organization convenes global water leaders and supports businesses, utilities, government agencies, education programs and non-profits with valuable services, programming and networking opportunities. Under Dean’s leadership, The Water Council has received numerous international and national economic development and leadership awards. In 2018, Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program proclaimed that The Water Council was one of five organizations in the United States that it considers a successful industry cluster initiative. Dean has served as the President of the Spirit of Milwaukee; President of Forward Wisconsin, the state’s economic development organization; and Executive Director of the Wisconsin Sesquicentennial Commission. For six years, Dean was with the Wisconsin Arts Board; first as Deputy Director and later as Executive Director. During the 1980s he worked in government relations in Washington, D.C.
