Aquagga Experiences Transformational Year

Start with a foundational patent spun out and licensed from the University of Alaska. Mix in cutting-edge research at the University of Washington, and the Colorado School of Mines. What emerges? A rapidly growing tech startup, laser focused on developing solutions to the most pressing water treatment and environmental remediation challenge of the 21st century.

Aquagga offers end-of-life PFAS destruction solutions for environmental remediation firms, industrial filtration companies, solid waste managers and environmental site managers. Its patented, portable, bolt-on PFAS destruction platform produces no toxic byproducts. Its mission is to permanently end PFAS contamination in our shared environment.

2025 has been a tremendous year for the company. Here are a few of the highlights:

Aquagga participated in The Water Council’s BREW 2.0 Post-Accelerator in 2022 and won the fall 2023 Tech Challenge.

“Aquagga’s relationship with The Water Council has been instrumental to our growth,” said co-founder Chris Woodruff. “Through the 2022 BREW 2.0 accelerator, we gained access not only to expert guidance but to a collaborative community of fellow water-technology innovators who continue to be valuable partners and sounding boards as we scale.

“The Water Council has also opened doors to high-visibility opportunities at industry events—connecting us to panel discussions and networking sessions at WEFTEC and other major conferences. In addition, participating in The Water Council’s Tech Challenge provided meaningful validation of our technology and additional industry recognition. Overall, membership has offered Aquagga a supportive ecosystem that accelerates our commercialization path and strengthens our impact across the water sector.”
