For 30 years, Clearwater Industries has been manufacturing rugged, reliable water clarification equipment from its home in southeastern Wisconsin. But that doesn’t mean the company – now in its second generation of leadership – isn’t continually innovating.
A few years ago, Clearwater paired up with a Spanish company, SigmaDAF, to bring its technology to the U.S. That partnership has helped Clearwater continue to grow, and it is expecting a record year in 2026.
Clearwater specializes in designing and building polymer preparation systems, water clarifiers and fines recovery systems. Some of its most common applications include sand and gravel, industrial sand, concrete washout, dredging, drilling, tunneling, high-purity water, municipal wastewater and environmental cleanup.
SigmaDAF – a Spanish designer and manufacturer of designed air flotation systems – was looking to enter the U.S. market. The Water Council, through our relationship with the Catalan Water Partnership, introduced SigmaDAF to Clearwater Industries.
Through this new relationship, the two companies established Clearwater-AquaSigma, LLC, doing business as SigmaDAF USA. Combining Clearwater’s sedimentation clarifier technologies with SigmaDAF’s systems positions the entity to provide clarification systems for a wide range of industrial applications, opening up new opportunities for both companies.

By the end of 2026, the joint entity will have seven SigmaDAF USA installations with many more in production. “We’re proud that in-house manufacturing gives us quality control over our systems and allows us to create strong manufacturing jobs,” said Andy Gralton, Clearwater director of business development.
Clearwater moved into a new building in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, in 2021 to support continued growth and increased manufacturing capacity. The new facility has enabled the company to increase production, creating a strong finish to 2025 and setting 2026 up as another record year.
“As a member of The Water Council, we’ve had the honor to participate in events, summits and initiatives,” Gralton said. “The Water Council staff has been pivotal in connecting organizations and building relationships. We are grateful for The Water Council’s mission, and we strongly believe in being stewards of water and clean water access.”
