Out-of-state companies are moving their headquarters to Wisconsin by the dozens.
The latest company mulling a move to the Badger State is Latitude Power.
Co-founder Jared Cacciatore was asked if he ever thought he would have a business in Wisconsin.
“No, no. If you would have asked me five years ago or even two years ago,” he said.
All of that changed after Cacciatore co-founded Latitude Power. His hydroelectric generators create clean energy from moving water.
He showed us how one generator has the potential to create energy.
“That particular unit has the potential to create 5,000 watts or 500 kilowatts of power,” Cacciatore said. That could power up to five average-sized homes for the entire year.
Cacciatore is now exploring moving his headquarters from Rockford to Southeast Wisconsin.
“Because of what we do, Milwaukee is the global hub for water technology so for my company that’s really attractive,” he said. “Within the next 18 months, we’d like to have three or four employees and then we’ll scale that up as we grow, within the next 18 months we’d like to have 3 or 4 employees and then we’ll scale that up as we grow.”
