The first office building at the Reed Street Yards water technology business park in Milwaukee could begin construction in May.

The four-story, 79,800-square-foot building gained the Milwaukee Plan Commission’s approval Monday. General Capital Group LLP and developer Peter Moede, who teamed on the 17-acre Reed Street Yards project, will develop theoffice building. It would be on the bank of the Menomonee River on the newly built Freshwater Way. It is the first of several buildings the developers plan in the business park. The office space is being marketed to water-based businesses, said Sig Strautmanis of General Capital. He said discussions are underway with a number of potential tenants.
