Canadian engineering firm Stantec Inc. has agreed to buy Colorado’s MWH Global Inc. in an all-cash deal, valued at $795 million, that will combine companies that have offices in the Milwaukee area.
Edmonton, Alberta-based Stantec has 15,000 employees at more than 250 locations, including an office in Mequon. The company’s local work includes landscape architecture services for the Reed Street Yards development in Milwaukee, according to the company’s website.
Broomfield, Colo.-based MWH, an engineering company that focuses on water projects, has 6,800 employees worldwide. MWH has worked on a number of large water infrastructure projects around the world, including the Panama Canal Third Set of Locks Project. It has 6,800 employees and a network of about 187 offices in 26 countries, including an office in downtown Milwaukee.
