MADISON, WI. Aug. 8, 2014 — Wisconsin companies in the water technology sector are invited to be part of the state delegation that is attending the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) this fall in New Orleans.
Companies in the delegation will benefit from the support of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and The Water Council, which will jointly operate a booth highlighting the strengths of the state’s water sector.
Thousands of water and wastewater professionals are expected to attend WEFTEC, which runs from Sept. 27 to Oct. 1, to learn more about water technology and to network with others in the industry. WEFTEC is the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition, with nearly 1,000 exhibitors displaying the latest in water quality research technology and services, and more than 22,000 attendees taking part. Attendees also engage in continuing education and professional development, with cutting-edge technical sessions and workshops.

“There is no question that Milwaukee and Wisconsin have an international reputation for being global leaders in the water technology sector,” said Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of WEDC, the state’s lead economic development organization. “This event will provide state companies another opportunity to showcase all the innovation in the sector that is originating right here in Wisconsin.”

Water technology is a key industry strength in the Wisconsin economy, and WEDC and The Water Council will highlight this strength at the Wisconsin Water Innovation Pavilion, located at Booth 4045 on the trade show floor of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. A consortium of colleges and universities that offer water-related programs, including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Gateway Technical College.
The booth also will serve as a general gathering and networking space for other Wisconsin water-sector companies.
