The Water Council is pleased to announce that we have been selected as one of 30 leading American innovators for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition’s (USGLC) 2014 Innovations in Smart Power Initiative. The Innovations in Smart Power is an initiative spotlighting American businesses and non-governmental  organizations (NGOs) partnering with the government to take on the world’s toughest global development problems.

Through our work with the United Nation’s Global Compact Cities Programme, which recognized Milwaukee as an urban center of excellence in water in 2009, has helped us establish Milwaukee as a global hub of freshwater technology, education and economic development. Furthermore, as a result of our recognition by the UN, national and international companies have come to The Water Council’s Global Water Center in Milwaukee in search of solutions to their freshwater issues, and to share in our knowledge, expertise, and innovations in water technology.
