Newest Addition to The Water Council Team

As the summer heats up and we all anticipate the move to and grand opening celebration of the Global Water Center, it seems as though every week we are making exciting announcements. This week is no different; we are thrilled to announce the recent staff addition of our newest Intern, Isaiah Matthew Perez! Isaiah joins us as a recent graduate from the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Isaiah has spent the last year working with such organizations as Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services and ZizzoGroup Marketing+PR+New Media.
We continue to look for opportunities to develop young talent and educate individuals that are passionate about the movement to brand Milwaukee as a Global Water Hub of research, technology, education and innovation. We asked Isaiah to provide insight about himself, and what he is most looking forward to, working at The Water Council:

I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from UW-Milwaukee in the summer of 2012. During my time at UWM, I followed the various developments and progress that was being made across Milwaukee. Having been born and raised here, I have a natural affinity to see my hometown flourish. I believe many Milwaukeeans do not fully appreciate what the city has to offer; we boast a thriving arts and culture scene, world-renowned attractions, and an energetic urban core, that is in a process of reinvention.

My hope is to generate enthusiasm and pride amongst my fellow citizens, and the world over. I am most excited to spread the word about the remarkable work that The Water Council is doing through our various social media outlets, culminating with Milwaukee Water Week and the grand opening celebration of the Global Water Center. Water, and the water industry will be an integral factor in the reinvention of the city. We hold a first-mover advantage thanks to the early foresight of private sector leaders years ago, and I look forward to building on the momentum already created.

My favorite city sponsored slogan from the 80s is, “A Great City on a Great Lake.” I am confident that, working together with The Water Council and all the innovative companies at the Global Water Center, this slogan will again be synonymous with Milwaukee.
