The Water Council is truly honored to have been awarded the 2015 Excellence in Technology Based Economic Development (TBED) “Improving Competitiveness of Existing Industries” Award during the State Science & Technology Institute’s (SSTI) Annual Conference in Oklahoma City. More than 250 local, regional and national leaders in economic development from 43 states, Ontario, Canada and the District of Columbia attended the multi-day conference. This particular award is presented to initiatives that expand the innovation capacity of existing industries or companies to develop new leading-edge products or services, while significantly enhancing the competitiveness of their existing operations.
The Water Council is grateful to our robust Member network and the thriving Wisconsin Water Technology Cluster for all the support over the last several years to establish our region as the leading water technology cluster in the United States. Congratulations also to the other SSTI TBED award winners, which include TechAccel (Kansas State University, Most Promising TBED Initiative), Matching Grants Research Program (Florida, Expanding Research Capacity), and the Innovation Fund Northeast Ohio (Lorain County Community College, Building Entrepreneurial Capacity).
