Rapid Radicals Technology exists to eliminate sewer overflows and basement backups by expanding traditional municipal infrastructure to include a decentralized high-rate treatment technology that ultimately ensures the resiliency of sewer systems and health of communities and the surrounding environment.

Our proprietary system combines rapid solids removal with chemical oxidation to remove pollutants and disinfect harmful pathogens in less than 25 minutes. The full-scale system can treat wastewater 16x faster than conventional wastewater treatment and at 25% of the cost of large underground storage systems.

Wastewater utilities deserve a better solution that cost-effectively meets discharge permit requirements every time, no matter the flow of the storm event. The quick start-up and treatment time of the Rapid Radicals system results in reliable wastewater treatment for a more resilient future.

In collaboration with Marquette University, we’ve been successfully deploying our technology with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District since 2019. In 2021, we received a $1M National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research Phase II research grant to continue our piloting efforts in the Great Lakes region and further develop important stakeholder relationships.
